No just found it on the web sometime ago...  I also have a nylon lawn mower starter rope with wood handles on both ends wrap it around the shaft and pull...  looks like a Garrote So I always kept it in the truck until i needed it...  I only once needed a rope and  6 foot  2x4 . it was so bad customer decided to Not repair.

We used the Agitamer. If it wouldn't come off with that, it was time to break out the hammer and chisel.

I have been reading and re-reading all the posts and links familiarizing myself with what needs to get done, as well as, preparing to order parts.
One glitch surfaced. The spanner tool for removing the critical nut beginning the serious part of the repair is not available.
What to do?

Agitator is out, all in one piece. The rope, 2x4 & 4 inches of water did the trick after a few adjustments.
Let the fun begin.

The spanner AP4503397 per the web site is not compatible with model A612.

There is much scale at the bottom of the washing tub. Going to get rid of what I can. Then work on getting the nut off, probably with a dremel cutoff wheel. :embarassed:

Is it perhaps compatible with the replacement nut?

Is there a part number for the upper shaft?
Should I be replacing belts, they are the originals?
