Kenmore Dryer not heating or stopping
« on: September 10, 2013, 09:00:57 AM »
So I am a new homeowner and only somewhat mechanically inclined... I have a dryer that was given to me by a friend and worked fine until yesterday. I walked into the laundry room after running a load the night before and noticed the dryer was still running. The clothes were dry so I assumed maybe the timer had an issue. I ran it again and it won't heat either! So I guess it ran the whole night with no heat. It's definitely spinning though.

So I pulled off the back panel after googling some possibilities... I tested the thermal fuse and heating element both tested fine for continuity. I also tested the thermostat and it's testing fine too. I looked at the heating element and i don't see any obvious breaks in the coils either.

What am I missing?? Any ideas?

The model number is 110.64742400

Make sure you have 220 to dryer,it can run( using 110 volts of 220 ) but won't heat if breaker is tripped.

Make your dryer is getting 230 volts as the the motor will tumble drum and you will get no heat.Meaning motor only needs 120 volts to tumble.Check for the correct power at the back of dryer where powers comes in from
