GE Profile PWR04FANBS Blinking/Locked Display
« on: September 08, 2015, 06:59:40 AM »
Hello and thanks in advance for any assist here....
I've got a 7-8 year old GE Profile PWR04FANBS wine refrigerator with a Blinking/Locked Display.  i have tried unplugging the unit to reset and holding down the red wine, white wine and interior light buttons which i understand does something with the electronics -- no change.  The blinking temp shows 74 or 75 and there appears to be no way to change it.  It does sound like the compressor turns on when i plug the unit back in which seems consistent with the unit being on and likely in/around that temp (it does not feel cool inside when you open the door).
Any thoughts?

Double check to see if the compressor is running. If its not running, you could have a bad start device. If its running, you may have a sealed system leak. These little coolers use very little refrigerant (1 to 1.5 ounces) and the smallest leak will cause it to not cool.

thanks for the suggestions.  basic questions coming back here, i said i thought the compressor was working because i hear it turn on when i plug in the unit.  can you recommend a more complete way of testing?  also, what to do if indeed there is a leak?

last, i'm still somewhat perplexed by the way the display panel is locked out (yet blinking).  i am entirely unable to use any of those buttons.

again, most grateful to any and all who want to comment.
