to be fair I don't mind the direct drive cabrios...    prefer them to any of the other high efficiency toploads I've run into... unless theirs some odd brand that doesn't break ...  which would explain why I haven't seen it

We had a post on VMW's.    Pretty extensive.  Calypso,  a real piece of $*#&#.    Had one a couple of months ago,  Lady got a whole hairdressing cape caught underneath the tub.   Started to take apart,  wobble assembly was so corroded that they decided to replace.    One machine I really hate.

if they didn't fail .. we would be out of work.

This is true, but there is something very satisfying (to me ) in saying, "she's fixed and will give you no more problems."  I find that to be the most common on WP direct drive washers.

I hate saying "She's alright now but..."
