ER IF in LFX25960st
« on: August 16, 2013, 03:21:21 PM »
Hello! I have the ER IF mesaage . started back in april,. I turned the fridge off, let it sit 8 hours, turned back on and message went away. Well, message came back on after a while. I turned ice maker off... Sat a while.. And turned back on. Worked OK. This repeated itself a few times and now I turn the ice maker on and the message turns on right away. I looked at blower fan.. No ice. I removed fan. Tried applying 12v and no response. I tested board connector 4. Blower removed, ice maker on. Pin 1 and 2 had 12 volts, pin 2 and 3 had 5. Does this mean the blower fan motor is in fact bad? Part 5208ja1044a has been changed to new part number. If the motor went bad should I 1) replace with identical part number, 2) replace with new part number that may be different, or 3) just try to get new motor without replacing whole assembly? This fan I guess is known to accumulate ice, and there may be a redesigned assembly to prevent this, but I don't know for sure. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!
