I think I'm going to use the blue book. I've been using $ears pricing, but I think it's good for a big corporation with thousands of techs. Not for a one man show like me. Now that I had to junk the 1.9L Saturn and am using the 5.3L Tahoe...

I'm in Canada and I don't use the blue book. I use my own trip charge amount and hourly labour rate based on my competitors in my city. I don't know that I could charge what the blue book says. Are most of you who use the blue book in large cities? The city I'm in is only 17,000. I think my customers would throw me out if I tried to charge the same as the blue book. People are really ok with paying those prices? I do wonder if I should be charging more though. Trip charge $40, Labour $60/hr, mileage .70/km. What do you think? These prices are not a whole lot lower than my competitors though.

I'm just outside Philadelphia area. I'm charging $60.00 service fee plus parts. IE....for a solenoid set for a gas dryer about $30.00 my cost I charge $60.00 for the solenoids  and $60.00 service fee. $120.00 total amount.

Too much, to little?

Also if your talking about part # 279834 then $30 is way to high for wholesale price.
