LG WM0642HW LE error
« on: August 01, 2013, 05:09:08 PM »
I got a call on this LG with an LE error.
It had stopped full of water and LE on the display.

I unplugged it, took the back off and inspected the wires.  I didnt have the manual with me and couldnt get internet to read the hints on here, but I did have a hall sensor with me so I put it on .

When I plugged it back in, I hit the soil and spin buttons, then pressed power.  It should the initial diagnostic info then it shows "nE" on the display and would not do anything at all.

Any idea what the "nE" in the diagnostic mode means?

THanks

nE is a communication/test mode time out entering error. What to do..... Attempt to enter the test mode, wait for the door to latch/lock and error will pop up. Turn off and IMMEDIATELY re enter successfully,.....  :welcome:

Cool.  Ill try that next time.  I had unplugged the machine and I just went back after gathering some info on things to test.  I still couldn't get into test mode (cause I didnt read this) and I decided to try a rinse spin cycle.  After being unplugged for a bit, it seemed to work fine.

She did have only a few towels in there and she said it had been banging around before it stopped.

Will post back if the error returns.

Thanks for the tip on the nE error.

<<<it shows "nE" on the display and would not do anything at all.>>>

***********

Not an error message/display...

For some reason---on *some* LG WM0642 model washers---when the TEST MODE has been enabled---and the door locks---the software will only allow a 1-2 second period in which to begin the initial test mode by pressing the Start/Pause button ( for Drain & Tumble test).

There are 2 choices for testing the washer...

1) Press and hold the SOIL LEVEL & SPIN SPEED buttons---then press the POWER button and release all 3 buttons.

2) Immediately put your finger on (but do not push) the START/PAUSE button and wait until the door locks (single click).

3) At the very moment the door has locked---press the START/PAUSE button to initiate/activate the TEST MODE.

In your case---it would easier to just start a cycle---let water enter the tub---then turn off the washer.
Turn on the washer and select the SPIN SPEED---then press START.
