Whirlpool Tub Wrench
« on: March 13, 2016, 09:09:43 AM »
So, I'm looking for some feedback. For the last year or so, I've been using a 1 11/16 deep impact socket with an electric impact to remove GE washer tub nut. Squeeze the trigger and a few seconds later, it's out. Beats the snot out of beating on a wrench with a hammer for many minutes. This method works so well that I am wanting to know if many would be interested in a deep impact socket for the Whirlpool tub nut??

I use the deepwell socket for ge's...    for the whirlpool tub nut you can use a 2-1/2 spindle nut socket.   it's just barely tall enough, and has a little slack, but the next size down is slightly too tight.  it's meant for use on 4 wheel drive stuff...   I took an extra nut from an old vma washer gearcase change in with me to test the fit... used it a couple times and it does the trick.  found it at Orielly  for around 20$ but can't remember exactly how much.

if the link doesn't work it's part # w1273   spindle nut by performance tool
