I've always just given a 30 day labor warranty. But I'm flexible on it. Just depends on the situation. I figure if I screwed up it ought to show up during that time. I've never had anyone express that they had a problem with it. Part warranty is whatever the manufacturers give.

Before I give a year warranty, I'm going to raise my rates tremendously.

Manufacturers have a part warranty? Is that thru the manufacturer direct or the store you bought the part from?

Example: if I install a part, like a timer, and it fails within a certain amount of time. I can take it back?

I do 90 days parts,  30 days labor.     All manufactures give at least a 90 day warranty,  GE gives a year.   But I keep it the same for all.    Makes it easier for me.     I almost never get a call back.    The ones you do,  you just have to deal with it.    I had a bad icemaker last week,  went bad right after installing it.   Took it back - no problem.   Customers like some type of warranty.
