Whirlpool hidden switch plug-in
« on: June 29, 2013, 10:14:25 PM »
I have a receptacle that plugs into a WP hidden switch that must of had to much resistance at the connection because the plug is burnt & melted.  I can only find a wiring harness, customer does not want to spend the money for a complete harness.   I just need  the plug in.  Any clue where to search?

Model LSQ9010PW2.   Plugs into the hidden lid switch to complete the circuit when lid is closed.    Believe the neutral leg is the hot side,  that is the spade that is fried.

I've never been able to find a source for the terminals. Time for a whole wiring harness.   :(

I save those 1/8" terminals that come with the Whirlpool dryer motors.  Cut off the plastic insulation.  Crimp it onto a length of wire.  Remove the burnt terminal from the plug.  Feed the new terminal and wire through the plug where the burnt terminal used to be.  Plug the new terminal into the switch and then connect the plug to the switch.  Wire nut or crimp connect the length of wire to the burnt terminal wire. If you don't have any of those terminals, PM me your address and I'll send you a couple.

Thanks, Tgoods. I hate throwing out good stuff. I probably have a dozen of those terminals . Good to know.

Available, but expensive. These fit the motor connector and timer connector, not 100% sure if it's the same size as the lid switch connector but I believe so. The connector housing number given by schleven I don't think will fit this lid switch. It is a polarized  receptacle. I cannot find a source for that connector.
