I have what I hope is a stupid question and I've just been given bad advice by an old school tech. Here's the deal, I have my first Ge Climate Keeper dual evaporator fridge that isn't cooling on the fresh food side. I have changed the board since the fan runs, it does maintain "some cool" about 47 degrees. The display shows 47 so it knows it's too warm. The coils have no frost, no condensation, and no Freon flowing through them. That being said I'm going back Tuesday and I'm gonna replace the expaorator thermistor. I'm hoping this will resolve the issue, however if it doesn't I'm thinking the gas switching valve may be bad.
Where I used to work I was told (keep in mind they were very new then) that you can't charge a GE dual evap sealed system because the GE factory service has to have a special computer to operate that gas valve while charging the system. ..... PLEASE TELL ME HE IS WRONG!!!!
Anyway can anyone send me a manual to put it into diagnostics while charging to operate the valve .... or maybe a old training manual to try to figure out how to do this. I don't need a step by step on the sealed system, but this is for a home warranty so getting rid of the call isn't really a possibility at this point, and if the evap thermistor doesn't work I have to figure out how to change that gas valve. Please don't reply unless you have done one or know for sure what your talking about. I don't need guesses. But if I literally cannot do it without the computer to interface the board I'm fine with that answer. I just don't wanna tell the home warranty that and get a call from my rep asking why I'm retarded
Thanks in advance.
