First off, I'm not a tech.

My roommate tried to run another cycle after it stopped working, and "says" he didn't see an f code.

There is display, but when you turn on the washer and select a cycle and attempt to start, the washer locks the door but I do not hear any other sounds.  When I attempt to turn off washer, door remains locked and the "add garment" light continues to flash.

Local appliance repair guy tried swapping out the control board, pressure switch, latch assembly and water valve.  He said he'll try swapping the motor control board but there is no power going to the board right now.

Any idea what's going on?

Thanks for your time,

Tom

Did he check for voltage at the motor control while in a test mode? Did the door lock? I would check to see if you have 5vdc at the MI3 connector on the motor control.

It sounds like the local parts guy is a parts swapper instead of a repairman... More in-depth diagnosis is needed.

A blinking add a garment light usually means there is a code stored in the control.

Thanks for your comment brother.

These guys came well recommended on Angie's list, but I think you're right because they flipped out when I said I didn't have a code for them.  Do you know how to get at that code?  Should I call the factory?

These guys said they wouldn't charge anything if the control board doesn't work.

Thanks again man,
Tom

The tech sheet will tell you. Its taped to the inside of the bottom cover. If it had a digital display, it will tell you the last three codes.  If it doesn't have a digital display, it will blink a set of lights to tell you the code.

If the tech sheet is missing, let us know and we can find one online for you.
