rf267aars Samsung Displaying 88 88
« on: June 26, 2013, 10:07:24 PM »
Got a Samsung RF267AARS\XAA that wasnt cooling at all.  Condensor fan running but compressor doing nothing and the display is showing 88 88, well almost, part of the second 88 inconsistently flashes. He believed that a power surge caused the problem.
I replaced the main board and the inverter board just to be safe and the fridge is now cooling properly, but the display has not changed.
It is still showing 88 88. Well, almost, the 88 on the right is flickering.  Not like it is trying to display an error code, but like it has a short.
Also, none of the buttons work.

Any suggestions?

I looked on the parts diagram and cant even see the panel display board.  It looks like just the cover is listed.
Thanks

So I just read on another site that the 88  88 is normal after a power outage and it should return to normal after 12 to 36 hours.  I will let you know.

It may, but I have gone out a week or two later to find the silly thing still flashing. There are two buttons that need to be held in. Someone chime in!
