Duet dryer no heat
« on: May 21, 2013, 02:29:54 PM »
I have a duet dryer model # GEW9250PW0 with no heat. When I go to diagnostics and then turn it on the error code is 08, but I can't find any information on what that code means. Any help?

Make sure your dryer is getting 240 volts. And check out these parts in the attachment using a volt ohm meter.Heater you should have 7 to 12 ohms.Thermal cutoff 0 ohms and high limit also 0 ohms.Thermistor you should have about 9.2 thousand ohms at 80 degrees F.

checked them all. 0 on the high limit, 0 on the cutoff. No reading on the heater (assuming this may be the problem then?) and the Thermistor read 13.2K ohms at about 70-75 deg

Sounds like you found the problem. You can pull heater out and you should see it broken.

Or using voltmeter set to read 240 volts or more and dryer running in a heat cycle. You should read About 240 volts at heater. No heat bad heater. No ohms bad heater.

I did test it with the Dryer running and I got 240V but still no ohm reading. Still assuming bad heater? If that is the case then by the looks of it the heater is the entire piece of sheet metal with the coils in it correct? I have to remove that take the cutoff and the High limit off of that and put them on the new one when I am replacing it? Does it all come out from the front or am I going to have to take the back off to get to any connections?
