Whirlpool duet.
« on: May 23, 2013, 11:25:21 AM »
I was told by someone that its important and it is the future to know and learn all the new technology that's on the newer alliances nowa days, but this past Thursday I had three washers and a dryer two of the washers were simple top loaders with bad lid switches I made $100 on each and another $100 on the dryer but the third washer was a whirlpool duet with a F26 code. So inchecked the door locking mechanism and it was fine I tried to enter the diagnostic mode and it wouldn't do it wich told me that the CCU was bad. The customer wasnt going to spend $250 on parts and another $200 on labor so they just opted for a new one. But o. That call wich is the fancy new stuff I didn't make anything so I don't know in theory it sounds good but I reality I make more money on the simple stuff. And here's the funny part, I advised the husband that it might be a good idea to get a simple top loader and he told me "no, my wife is going to insist on a fancy one" maybe some people disperse what they get.

I agree on the simple top loader idea but the only decent one nowadays is the Speed Queen (around $800) and even it has dumbed down water level and temp control. Whirlpool just introduced it's new line of smart appliances including washer and dryer that you can control from your smartphone. Just more electronics control crap that can fail and cost a fortune to get repaired.

The problem is after parts, there's no room for labor.
