I have checked all the thermostats for continuity, all ok.  The ignitor comes on, both valves open, but it shuts down within a few seconds.  Any help?

Check the vent.  If it's too long or has to many elbows the back preasure can cause it to short cycle.  Also; even though the thermostats have continuity they may not be working properly.  I'd replace the operating thermostat.  Look at the flame sensor too.  That will cause it to shut down.

Build date: June 2010---rules out a lot of earlier Service Bulletins.

LG gas dryers are ***very***sensitive to partially blocked/restricted exhaust venting.

If the venting runs/routes through the wall of the home (and is longer than 8 feet length)---this makes it almost mandatory that a professional vent/duct cleaning company be contacted/used---to verify that the vent system is indeed clear.

I've witnessed LG gas dryer flame/ignition shutdown in as few as 3 seconds.

In that instance---the venting went into the floor at a downward angle and then straight through to the rear/back deck of the home. The overall length was approximately 20 feet.

After the duct/vent company (using their expertise & specialty tools) completely removed all of the lint/water accumulation---the dryer performed *much* better but still required a longer than average length of time to dry the laundry. This was due to the longer-than-eight-feet length of the vent.

Another possibility---though unlikely---is that the Heater Relay on the Main Board may be failing (intermittently.

I'd check the vent system first.

I have it pulled out from the wall, with no venting attached to it.

To test...

Unplug the dryer.

Remove the front of the dryer but leave the door switch plug connected.

Set the front of the dryer off to the left (or have an assistant hold it)

Set the test meter to DC voltage test mode (direct current).

Pull off the plug to VALVE #1 (on the right side of the gas valve).

Place the test leads into the plug.

Plug in dryer.

Power on dryer.

Select the *Normal* cycle and press the START button.

There should be 90 volts DC at the plug.

If no voltage or less than 90 volts DC is present/shown on the meter---replace the MAIN BOARD.

Try this (several times if needed) to test the reliability of the relay on the Main Board.

Thanks for that test info. There is a light on the control panel that says "cooling" that stays on.  I have not seen many LG products in our valley, so I don't know if that indicator should be on.

The COOLING indicator lamp will come on whenever the Heater/Gas Flame is "off".

Normal.
