« on: October 23, 2013, 01:45:59 PM »
we have a small freezer 5cf....the temp is about at 11 degs with the thermo turned about 3/4 of the wy to cold...is this good enough ??

Also we would like to replace it with a frost free model...does anyone make a reasonable priced one ??

Thank you

It would be better if the temperature were around 0. So go ahead and turn the control up and see if the temp comes down. Make sure you leave room around the cabinet so the coils can get rid of the heat build up. Keep an eye on it and make sure it is not running all the time.

I set it up to 5 so there is only one more setting before its all the way up...still at 9 degs F and I checked it with another thermo too...so could it be because there is about 2" of frost build up on the top of the inside ?? Or is this a sign its dying ???

Or should I turn it all the way to max ?? Pls let me know, thank you

Ok I defrosted...I still have it turned about 3/4 of the way up and the temp is fluctuating between +5 to +7 degd F
Is this ok and should I leave it here ??
I assmed if it was turned half way it would be at zero...dont know why I thought this...it does turn off and on...My wife thinks we should just leave it alone

I think as long as it works it doesn't mater where you have to set it. If you run out of numbers then you have a problem.
