cutoff kit 279816 jumper wire?
« on: May 08, 2013, 09:37:41 AM »
I replaced my dryer cutoff kit 279816 on my dryer but is it necessary to add the jumper wire that comes in the package to the thermostat? Right now i have two wire that go to the element and two that go to the thermostat, so why is everyone cutting one of the wires to jump to the element?

 :thanks:

The jumper wire is only necessary if your original limit thermostat has a terminal leg that attaches directly to the element.  If your old thermostat looks like the new one, no added wire is needed.
