Complaint: Washer leaks water.
As I started the washer so it would fill with water as I removed the font panel.
Once I had the front panel removed it was easy to see were the water leak was.
The water was leaking out the bottom of the tub were the transmission goes through to the agitator.
Solution: Install the
Mounting Stem and Boot Seal Kit
The hardest part of this job is often getting the old parts out. It helps to have the right tools and one tool you need for this job is the maytag
Spanner Wrench

It also helps to remember that the parts have left handed threads on them.
Even with the right wrench and the knowledge of the left handed threads you still may need to cut the old part off to get it removed.
A dremel with a reinforced cutting wheel makes this a easy task.
With a little knowledge, the correct tools and little time you can have your maytag washer up and running like new again too.
