Fridgidaire won't cool.
« on: May 02, 2013, 10:51:25 AM »
I worked on a fridgidaire refrigerator model #FRS26R2A, the compressor was kicking on and off. So I replaced the relay plug kit, the problem didn't go away. Then after about two hours of checking and rechecking then staring at the diagram, I realized that the overload was probably open as it was a temp controlled. Then I plugged the fridge back in, at this point it was unplugged for about 20 minutes then when I plugged it in the compressor came on and cooled the unit down to 20 degrees. Then about two hours later the customer said it wasn't cooling again. So I told him to leave it unplugged for about 2 hours and that should let the overload cool down completely. Other than that I think it needs a ADC (control board) what do y'all think?

Hmm voltage and amp draw @ compressor? I wonder if the compressor is having trouble.

And that's the thing, if it is then he has to call someone else cause I don't change those.

Did you check to see if run capacitor was good as i don't think it came with new relay?

New run capacitor and relay. And keep in mind it did come on and run and cooled to about 28 degrees. But that's after I unplugged it for about 20 minutes.

Sounds like bad compressor to me. If its clicking off on overload and you have 120 volts. That it bad compressor. You did all you could. You can not win them all.
