Help needed with W/P dryer WED5100VQ1

AJ
I need your help with a dryer. We had a service call today on a dryer not coming on. We replaced the internal bias and the thermal fuse. Everything seemed to be OK. Cust called back and said the dryer overheated. Could it also be the motor switch on the motor, continually sending power to element, if the element is not grounded.

Element is most likely shorted to ground.

Thermal fuses blow because of too much heat in the exhaust outlet.
This is usually caused by a blocked exhaust duct.
The centrifugal switch from the motor only sends power to the element when the motor is running.
The thermal fuse on the exhaust duct will not blow due to a shorted element.
Check your exhaust duct both internally in the machine and externally through the wall to the outlet termination.

After you install cycling thermostat you should always put duct work back on without back panel and make sure it's cycling on the right thermostat with a meter. This may also help you find that the duct work is plug
