Dryer Mod WED5100VQ0 S/N MM4447090

I have a whirlpool dryer that was working (tumbler turns on) just fine on one load, then I loaded it again and nothing when I push the start button.  The drum light is on, so there is power.  Since I thought maybe there might be a restriction in the vent that goes up and out of the basement, I disconnected the vent completely from the back of the dryer so it vents out into the basement for now for troubleshooting.  I thought it might be hot, so I'll let things cool down a few hours.  I opened the top cover with a putty knife, but I don't see much on top except wires from the control panel going down the back.  Is there a thermal fuse in this dryer, and if so, where is it located?  I remember having problems similar to this with another dryer (Maytag Performa I think) that cut off once and after I cleared the lint from the tubing going out of the house, things worked much better.

You can get to the thermal fuse by taking the back off the dryer. 1/4 inch nut driver. Remember to remove from power first. The thermal fuse is white and about 2 inches long. Test for continuity.

Thanks.  I will have to pick up my multimeter at work to test it.  I was thinking it could be the switch on the control panel, too.  Also thinking it could be the door switch, but I do remember the light going out when I hit the button, so I don't think that is the problem.
