GE refrigerator/freezer
MajorApp:
It seems to run all the time. Sometimes fresh food freezing occurs. Cold control turned down to 2. It also drips water from freezer to fresh food section. There are 3 of these same units in apt. building with same problem. Possible thermostat and defrost drain tube?
Model TBX16SMCLAD
apptech:
It maybe running all the time because the compressor is getting week or it's getting low on freon.
But if at times it freezes stuff in the refrigerator section then I would say it's more of a problem with the cold control/thermostat.
As for the water dripping from the freezer to the refrigerator I would check the drain tube first.
MajorApp:
Will a frozen drain tube and drip pan affect the cooling process? It seems odd that 3 cold controls are bad unless that has been a problem with this model.

No, not that I have ever seen.
JWWebster:
I would change the cold control. Cheap mexican tstats are all the rage in GE ice box's
