I have a whirlpool gas dryer model LGR6620PQ0. The timer wont advance and i have to fool with ithe timer to get the heat to kick on. And even then the heat will shut off randomly sometimes. It spins fine. Its about 5 yrs old. I've been looking around online, but cant find the same issue. I've taken it apart and cleaned everything and the vent exhaust is clean. Also the door sensor went out so i wirenutted the wires together, if that matters.

Hi,

If the timer does not advance in any cycle including the timed cycle the timer is bad, part # 3976584

By door sensor do you mean the door switch? Should not matter just so long as you made a good connection with the wire nut. For safety reasons I would replace the door switch, part # 3406107

Texian76:
Awesome. Thanks. Would that affect the heating issue too?

Texian76:
Oh and the timed cycle does work.

Texian76:
I mean it stops spinning on the timed cycle , but not the other cycles
