Yes. If it's leaking thru the center of the diverter motor, you have to replace the sump and diverter. The diverter seal is part of the sump and not a separate part number.

Well that fixed it. A $2.00 seal. Took 5 minutes to change.  10-18-4 double lip seal. You should be able to get it from any bearing supplier.

RE:  "Well that fixed it. A $2.00 seal. Took 5 minutes to change.  10-18-4 double lip seal. You should be able to get it from any bearing supplier."[/b]

I've found this discussion of the leaking "diverter seal" to be most helpful.

I'm assuming that this seal is found where the diverter motor shaft penetrates the sump housing.  So, it could be called a "diverter motor shaft seal?" Is that correct?

I've read that to get this seal, one must buy the whole sump housing, which I'd of course like to avoid.  So, I take it that by obtaining the seal which you described above (10-18-4 double lip seal) one can avoid buying the sump housing.  It all of this correct?

Would you please describe the seal -- diameter, etc.?

It appears to me that the leak is from the plastic housing of the diverter motor assembly.  However, it's possible that the source of the leak is above that, from where the diverter motor shaft penetrates the sump housing.  To try avoid having to dig into the dishwasher multiple times, would you suggest replacing both the diverter motor assembly and the diverter shaft seal at the same time? -- since these do seem to be rather common faults.

Thank you.

Bob
