uL Error Code
« on: March 27, 2013, 12:55:45 PM »
Hello, I am working on a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model# WTW6400SW1 and it goes through a few loads without any problem and then it will start banging like its off balance and it will then pop up th uL code and continue on as if there is nothing wrong... I am wondering if the shocks need replacing or sthe plastic tops that hold the shocks... They all look fine , however does not do it everyload.. We run it without any clothes and its fine and then we through in a couple of things and then it sometimes comes up uL and starts banging around. The customer said that it just started doing this...How can it do it sometimes when we are using the exact same very small load? Maybe the load is too small? Not Sure of what to do... I need HELP please... Any suggestions?
Thanks In Advance For Any Help!!!

Have you seen this service pointer?
It may not apply to your model but then again you never know.

It seems the model # is incorrect. With The cabrio washer, there are two different designs. The one JW is talking about is the vmw. The other is the one that I see a lot of the off balance problem, and most often needs suspension rod kit replaced.

This is not the vmw design. I replace a lot of the suspension rods for this design. W10189077

Couple of other things to check. Is bolt in center of stator  tight. And sometimes center hub can be damaged on tub not letting it float back down right.

Thanks guys, changed the shock/rods as they have now replaced them with a seperate plastic holder that snaps in the metal slot first the you drop the rod and ball into that therefore eliminating the need for grease.. Thanks for the help its fixed and up and running.....
