First, thank you for providing this great forum!
My poor father managed to nick the inner glass panel on his oven door, and during the subsequent self-cleaning it shattered. I seem to be having some trouble locating a replacement; it is possible to simply order up a piece of tempered glass for a replacement? Or is it possible to get coated glass made to size? I took it apart and it measures 20-1/8" x 12" x 4mm thick. There appears to be a second identical pane in there (there's actually 4 panes including the outside one) which has the IR coating. I could turn that toward the inside if I had to get a piece of clear.
Also, the hinges on the stove were never great. The door hangs open to the point where the self-cleaning latch just barley catches it. I see they are no longer available, though the sockets are. Does anyone know if there's a way to upgrade them at all? repairclinic.com
has a picture of them ( p/n 1385045
); I don't know if it's ok to link to those guys here. If there isn't I'll try to come up with some way of beefing them up. I've fiddled with them before but didn't get very far.
Thanks for any advice you can give.
