Crosley CT19A5 not running. Defront Timer?

I have a Crosley CT19A5 refrigerator in my garage that stopped working during this winter.  I found that if I monkeyed around with turning the defrost timer that it wouldn't click on and off with the timer.... but if I thumped the area where the timer is with the handle of the screw driver that the frig would start to run.  So I unplugged the frig and found a used timer from a friend.  Put the new timer in and presto, the frig started up.  I could turn this time and turn the frig on and off.  I felt the air coming through the freezer and it felt good and cold.  Thought I had it fixed.... nope.  About an hour later I went out to the garage to check on it and it wasn't running.  So I thought maybe the timer was almost into defrost when I left it, so I tried to turn it manually again to see if it would come back to life.... no dice.  So I left it alone over night to see what would happen (I left freezer pops in the freezer to see if they freeze up).  Morning time.... Nothing.... still dead. 
Ideas?  This is just a freebie "beer frig" that I got last summer so I'm not out anything really but I would really like to get it going without spending a bunch of $$.

What is the temperature inside your garage?

I don't no forsure?.?.  It is not a heated garage and we do use it for our vehicles so the doors are opened about twice a day.  The garage is insulated.  Do you think the cold temps outside are messing with it?  I wondered the same thing....  My neighbor across the street has a similar situation with a frig in his garage but his frig keeps running all winter long.  He does however run a heater in his garage a few times (not 24/7) during the week when he's working out there. 
Maybe I should just wait to see what happens with we get a spring warm up?

Could be the outside temp messing it up. About how cold is it outside this time of year where you live?

Well it's been pretty much below freezing (32f) all winter with exception to a few days here and there.  It's in the lower 30's now with a few days pushing 40's.

Wait for it to warm up. It's way to cold for the themostat to cycle correctly.

Ok.  We'll see what happens in a few weeks to see if it comes out of hibernation.
