Cheapest Credit Card Processor
« on: March 12, 2013, 01:40:18 PM »
I need a cheap credit card processor.  I've considered Square.  Any suggestions or wisdom would be great!

Thanks

Let me reiterate - a cheap credit card processing SERVICE, not hardware.  I'm willing to pay a couple of percentage points.  We start getting into the 4%+, forget it.

There are a lot of bad reviews for Square on the Android market. Same for Paypal Here. I got the Paypal one and the CC slider doesn't work. Square is supposed to work well on most phones, but you have to deal with them via email if you have any problems.

I use square. I love it. 2.75%. Goes straight to my bank. No other fees. Money is in my bank in a day or two. Used it for over a year no problems. The only time i had an issue was when i am out of internet range on my phone. Then i just call them back later.

JW, reading on paypals site, they do send you a free reader. Its 2.9% +30 cents per each transaction. Square also sends you a free reader and its only 2.75%. Neither has a setup fee or other charges.

I'm using payments.amazon.com.  It's not the same as swiping a card, It's like paypal, but no fees.  Your customer has to have an amazon account and sign up for the payments account.  It use to be that the customer just needed an amazon account and no sign up needed. Amazon does require a social security number, which scared one of my customers into not signing up.  You can charge up to $1000 a month.  The only time I have come close is when I had a Bosch dishwasher sale, delivery, install and haul away. His bill was $995 and was the only charge I had that month.  I would've had to pay paypal $30 for that charge.
