Technically it can be 43 per lg when set to the lowest setting of 33.  I am not saying I agree but I can not change product design.  :D

dang, would changing that resistor to a lower resistance value help, or does that not help due to this dual evaporator system?

In theory, if you used a different thermister it should work. All lg themisters are interchangeable, between their fridges. They are different between fridge and freezer however. I would wanna know the frost pattern in fridge side. Freezer doing ok? :D

Yeah, freezer is great, set at -4 and sets is about -8F air temp.  Is the thermister something easily changed?  ie, if i called the service tech back and repeated what you said, he shoudl know what I am talking about, right?  Is the thermistor in the fridge somewhere or on the PCB in the back of the fridge?

In the fridge wired back to the main. Give it a few days and call back and let THEM do their diagnosis. Me on a interwebz machine means nothing to the tech in the home.

Well the last time the guy came out he just replaced the main PCB for the fridge and made it sound like there wasn't more he thought he could do if I continued to have the problem....but I'll call em again and see if they can do something on Monday.  Once they change that, shouldn't take very long for the air temp to get down to that temperature setting, right?  Assuming we're not opening the doors frequently.

Give it 24 hours for temp change. Thats the standard. The new main pcbs actually adapt to the conditions over a few weeks time. That is what I am told per lg.  :D

Ok, freezer is rocking out, right at teh -6F setting we've got it at.  So maybe thermistor or fan.  If you have a manual showing where those are and how to check, I'll pull out the multimeter myself and try to troubleshoot.

If it is under the manufacture warranty i would stray away from that. Otherwise have at it. Your unit WILL display a error code for the fresh food fan if not spinning. It has a tach wire. :D
