LG French Door (LFX31925) Freezer Cold, Fridge not
« on: March 01, 2013, 07:43:06 AM »
Guys, have the above mentioned model.  With the freezer set to -4F on the control panel and the fridge set to 33F, the Freezer is at -8F and the fridge is 40F.  Anyone have any idea what could be causing this one.  Is the damper adjustable in these models where it could be somehow set too "closed".  Just want to know what my options are to check.  I'm not sure if this fridge has a temperature compensation resistor, but  it would seem the freezer is ok, so I wouldn't immediately think that would be a possible solution.

Thanks in advance for the help,
Andrew

This is a dual evap model. Check resistance temperature detector against its supposed reading while unconnected from main pcb. Per LG they have up to a 7-10 degree temp swing. Either way.  :D

They will not be the same. The back of unit should hae large decal of diagram. The main pcb will have markings as well. :D

Well, they replaced the board.  We'll see if that does it, but after 3 hours, temp hasn't really gone down.  I'll give it overnight to see if it actually goes down.  Not sure what else it would be.

There is an update for the main pcb and freezer grille/fan assembly. Hopefully they installed the updated set of parts.  :D

Well, 8 hours later, and the temp in teh fridge hasn't gone down.  Looks like replacing the fridge board didn't do the trick.  Not sure if it matters at all, but this fridge was manufactured on Sep of 2012.  The tech made it sound like this was all he could do on this one.  He wasn't sure what else could be done.

I would still ohm out the fridge temp sensor, just in case. Also, make sure your reading product temp and NOT air temp. I know they correspond but a much more accurate way is product temp. :D

Yeah, I'm measuring both air and thermometer in a glass of water.

I have replaced a couple of the boards and grills that other techs have ordered. It did not fix the issue. One had a fan error, so I ordered the fan.  It fixed the issue. On the other I have not received  feedback yet. It did not have a fan error on it. Sensor tested ok. If the sensor tests, is the fan running.
