I have replaced a couple of the boards and grills that other techs have ordered. It did not fix the issue. One had a fan error, so I ordered the fan.  It fixed the issue. On the other I have not received  feedback yet. It did not have a fan error on it. Sensor tested ok. If the sensor tests, is the fan running.
The update is specifically for ER IF, Ice fan error. It WILL resolve THAT issue but remember, they JUST updated the part numbers again. IMHO, main pcbs are pretty robust on lg fridges. :D

Yeah, I didn't see any "ER"code pop up on the display, so relying on the tech to have checked that out of it could have been an issue.  At this point I think this fridge is going back.  Does anyone have a service manual for this thing?

YA BUDDY YOU CAN. Look at your new and old PCBs, and on one of the TWO larger BROWN caps for the inverter side, will have a white label with the exact part number located on it. You will also notice the upper 3 connectors will be longer than the original versions. Original version ended in 01, which led to 09 and now is 16. It is a software update to keep the fans off longer after defrost to let the water sheen off and enter the tray in the compressor compartment versus pull the moisture back up into the fan assemblies and or freezer section. The grille assembly will have more exhaust vents and the intake will be partially blocked off causing a higher overall pressure in the freezer. This will help prevent moisture from being sucked in when the freezer compartment is accessed. The fan and or main have also increased the torque to provide better starting and airflow on the newest updated parts. :D

Cool,Thanks for the information. I hated replacing there boards without knowing if I was getting a updated board. Besides the grills are so easy to replace.Just remove everything in the freezer. Really like to know what I'm replacing will correct the issue. I still remember there first air flow fixes !! They really seem do be moving ahead on there ref designs. I always liked there set up just hated the ice up issues. Really glad to know about the boards.

OK, if you can point out where in the service manual these parts are called out, that would be perfect so I can check it and know where to check the resistance that you initially talked about.

So air temp is varying anywhere between 44 and 36/7ish but the glass of water has never dipped below 40F.
