GE washer Model GTWN2800D0WW

This washer is giving me fits. It fills, agitates, rinses and spins fine. The problem is that after wash cycle it is supposed to do a "Soft Spin" per tech sheet, but it skips this part of each cycle. I replaced timer, same problem. No error code on inverter/motor board...EXCEPT when it is spinning and I open the lid it gives 6 flashes which is "motor locked/mode shifter", but when I close the lid the code goes away and it spins normally again.


Any help is appreciated, my customer is getting antsy.

Motor , I have had some wire harness issues down by the motor. Red and white wires were broken on one of them. But your issue seems to be motor and board. Whats the mode shifter omh reading ?

Thanks for the reply nio. I will ohm the shifter in the morning. What reading is normal?

70-100 ohms + or - a few. You just want to really verify it is not open.

  If it agitates and spins ok, the mode shifter is fine. It is only energized during agitate.
