If it did it once being brand new, I would replace the switch. I only see one switch located in that area, and it appears to be a standard microswitch. The hero should be able to confirm this. :D

Sorry Domain tech- no disrespect - your drawing was / is also appreciated but the post by Bailey accurately described the situation with 2 micro switches stacked on top of each other - top controls the open and bottom controls the close. the top one was stuck not making contact with the cam.

Oh none taken! I have much respect for bailey an his knowledge. Glad you got it figured out!:D

My secret is that I own this very same microwave and have this problem often. I just push the lower switch and it resets. You would think I would fix it permanently.
