Whirlpool LEQ9030PQ0 No Heat
« on: February 13, 2013, 04:15:12 PM »
I have a whirlpool dryer that has no heat and also will run any selected cycle, INCLUDING timed dry, and will advance to COOL DOWN and run forever. The element was open and the timer checks out. I KNOW that the element WILL take care of both of the issues including the running continuously. BUT my question is this, WHY. I am no pro on timers, but worked my way around this one. Someone please explain. Thanks. :D

The timer on the automatic cycle will only advance on the off cycle of the cycling thermostat. Therefore no heat for any reason the timer motor will get no power to advance it to the off cycle.Time cycle like a clock.Once you set it for 60 min. or so the timer motor will tick down and shut off with no heat or with heat.

I do not wanna disagree, but my research deems a element WILL take care of the issue. I find it hard to believe it will tick like clockwork and get stuck on cool down in any cycle being a bad timer. Also I do not believe that the element AND timer went at the same time. This is just my thoughts, I highly respect and praise your feedback!!!! :D

Ooooh. The timed dry WILL count down to a click before off, but stay on. May I ask how that WILL take care of the timed dry? :D

OP meant to say TIMED DRY will cycle till the cool down, but stay on. I did NOT run the auto cycles, but suspect the timer would not move AT ALL. :D

If your on the time cycle it should run past cool down and shut down.Is it possible you did not give it enough time to shut off.If you thought you did then i would check timer motor to see if you got power to the timer motor during cool down.I don't have diagram but basic whirlpool dryer.

This is going to depend on how the timer is wired by the diagram on the machine. Most of these the timer will tick down on the time cycle to the off position. But this one could be wired different than the most common way they did it in the past that can only be figure out by the diagram of that model. You no the heater is Burnt out that could be your only problem. That is a common heater and a must for truck stock. Let us no what happens.
