Hi,
I am working on a GE side by side refrigerator, model#GSS25WGMDBB, whose original symptom was not running. The mother board had a big hole burned through it so I replaced that and it started up and cooled for 1 day at which point temps in the freezer reverted to 15-20F and the food section 45-50F. We I went back the evap fan motor was only operating at its lower speed so I changed it out with a new motor that had a new sensor attached to it. The fan was operating at full speed when I left but the homeowner called the next day and advised the temps had reverted back to the above cited numbers. Subsequently I changed the board again just to make sure the board I had installed had not been damaged by a bad fan motor in the 1-2 days that it had been running. Unfortunately, the results were the same, the fan starts out at the higher speed but is slowling down within 24 hours.
Is it possible that the sensor in the fresh food section is bad or the compressor is what burned the hole in the board? Should I be looking elsewhere?
I see many of these refrigerators but this one has me stumped. Any help would be much appreciated.
