GE Front Loader was making a bit of noise....

I've done a bunch of front load bearing jobs, but this is the first spider I've seen that came completely apart. Normally just see them cracked on one leg.

And they are still made out of this pot metal, that the he soap attacks, I have the whirlpool front loader, been using regular soap, but very little since 2003, no problems yet.O0

I have seen them crack on one leg and rattle, 3 legs and still spin, and the steel axle shaft become loose! :D

So BigBuck, you state that HE soap seems to ATTACK the spider assembly metal and regular soap does not? Any specifics I could learn here?

I have not took mine apart, but i believe that he soap does attack the spider more then regular  soap. But thats my own opinion.  Also told the wife to use only 2 tablespoons  of regular detergent.
