Source for 5/16" push-on wire connectors?
« on: January 13, 2013, 10:59:06 PM »
These are the bigger ones that typically connect to the dryer heating element.  They are halfway between 1/4' (.250) and 3/8" (03.75).  That'd be 5/16" (0.3125).

I've been looking, and I can't even find 'em on the web.  Maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing?  I have a heating element (frigidaire) to replace, and the connector broke.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Is that the same size as the pig tail connections that come with some of the Whirlpool dryer elements?

I have a small collection of them around that I saved from installing new elements, part # 279457

Yes, I think that's  the same size.

I cut off a piece of wire from a whirlpool dryer & spliced it to the broken wire. but now she's reported problems.  Don't know if its related.

It was the same size connector.

Someone has to be making the spade. Would be nice to find a source for them.
I don't need to use them often, but it would be nice at times to just crimp on a new spade instead of always splicing in one already on a pig tail.

Well,  I'm looking, and when I find 'em I'll let you know.

AJ,  On another topic, would you like a scan of the tech sheet for a Bosch SHE model dryer?  It tells how to enter diagnostic.  I couldn't find info for that model anywhere, but the machine did have the tech sheet.

I must have about 30 or so of them in my terminal box.    I think I got them from the commercial stove place.     I believe that Servall also sells them.    I will check and see if I can get a part number for you when I'm there tomorrow if they have any.     I bought them years ago,  don't use them very often.     But its good to have when you need them.

Anderson,  I could use the tech sheet also.   Just got a call on a SHE model and I don't have any info on it.     Thanks.

We used to sell a kit for 4 bucks with 2 red wires and 2 wire nuts. The wire and spade clip was same as that of a dryer. Can't seem to find that same kit on line. I believe we got them from the same company we got the element from. 48 elements would come in a big box. When I sold the elements to techs for discount which was 12.50 I always kept the little pack of wires and had em in a separate box. Seems to me the name of the company was H&H electric.
