service manual for Maytag Neptune MAH5500BWW

Does anyone have a link to a service manual for a maytag mah5500bww washer, I was unable to locate one in the download section.  Washer making some squeaking and possible bearing noise durning spin cycle. Time to tear into it.

Hi,

The closest thing you will find is the service manual for the MAH3000 and MAH4000.

We have a copy of that service manual in our store at this URL.

But being you started a new topic in our forum to share what was wrong with your washer I sent you a free copy via PM.

The squeaking noise could be the drive belt and simply installing a new belt would solve that problem.

If you can spin the basket by hand and it sounds rough or noisy then you probably have bearing problems.

Remove the access panel at the rear of the washer and look under the drive pulley on the back of the tub to see if it's clean looking yet or if it has a water/grease trail running down the tub.

I have a hard copy of the manual (no PDF) I got from a school.  However,  The noise your hearing is most likely bearing noise in spin.   I have worked on a ton of these.    I have to tell you for the age of this machine,  I usually junk them.    I had one today that went through a power failure,  and the touch panel was shorted.   I reached in,  lifted the inner tub and it had a 1/4 inch of play.    Bad bearings too.   Hard to get people to put that much money into that old of a machine.

I have put bearings and seals in several of these. It is not something I do in the customers house. The inner bearing gets rusted in place and requires a big hammer to get it out. I take it to my shop and work on it in the evenings. Just make sure to quote a price that will make a profit for the extra time and effort.
