My Maytag Performa bangs at spin cycle and moves forward

Hi all

My Maytag performa bangs on the side walls of the washer while in spin mode.  It also moves forward.  Is this an easy fix, what could be the problem.  The model is PAVT244AWW.

With the lid up, grab hold of the agitator and move the tub back and forth. Shouldn't be too stiff or to easy. Did one not too long ago that was like a car with bad shocks. Not only was it too easy to move but kind of kept going after I let loose. The transmission was weeping a little oil and it was getting on the snubber ring and baseplate. A new ring, a lower tranny seal and a good cleaning solved the problem.

I moved the tub back and forth and it seem sturdy.  Not too loose or tough to move.  I am not sure if the snubber ring needs replacement.  It was suggested to check for white plastic shaving which I will check. Will post the findings soon

I have opened the washer and saw the white plastic shavins on the base plate so it looks like the snubber ring needs to be replaced.

So now I know that I need to replace the snubber ring, can you guys tell me the steps to do it. Is there spacific tool I need?
