GE Profile Front Load Washer won't Spin

GE Profile Front Load Washer - Model WPXH214

She runs fine through the wash cycles, but won't Spin when it comes times to Spin.  Times a tickin' and Mama ain't happy.  Now, the challenge to my newest dear friends, is to provide the perfect fix-it solution so I don't spend my entire weekend on this particular project.

I have become quite proficient on repairing parts on it's twin - the GE Profile Dryer.  This, however, is new to me.

   ----am hopeful to be celebrating with these soon!

One other note - checked to ensure no water blockage at hose and water pump.  Reinstalled.

Probably a bad door switch. This is a GE model made by Frigidaire. Maybe someone can find the Frigidaire part number for the door switch and save you a few bucks.

Question - wow, what a quick and easy remedy!  However, couple of quick questions;  1) Why would a faulty door switch allow for clothes to be washed, but not spin?  2)  Any way to pre-test this switch?  Don't want to just spend $70 on what could be wrong, only to learn it's something else(???).

Help - Mama still ain't happy!

The friggy front loaders will wash, but won't spin if the switch is bad. It's weird. I've never had the chance to tear one apart to see why that happens.

On the models with electronic control you can get it to go into a spin test with a bad door switch. Like I said... They're weird.

Check that you have both prongs on your door strike. It's located on the door. p# 131763302

Pump seems to be fine - obviously, wasn't able to benchmark the pump rate prior to this issue - seems to be operating fine during normal wash cycle.  As for the prongs to the door, check, they are fine.  Have used a toothpick and compressed air to ensure no foreign debris was in there that could possibly negate proper connection to switch.

Once this is fixed, I will post the solution....whenever that is!  At least, someone else that encounters the same issue will have quick remedy via this site.

Okay - now, the machine is not agitating.  Am going to declare this machine is of the female variety.  Help!  No spin - no agitating.

Have you done the diagnostics? You can return the door lock to Repair Clinic if it doesn't solve the problem. We can't help you if you ignore professional advice.

Have not performed any diagnostics as I am not sure of the specific "diagnostics."  Will plan on ordering the door latch today if this is your recommendation.

I'm liking the 95% prediction.  As for an even more recent update, I did follow the instructions this morning  on the Tech Sheet to first check for power.  Check.  Removed belt (which was in great shape), and set the timer to the Regular Wash cycle and pulled the knob out.  Motor does not rotate.  Says to check for a poor connection in the timer line switch or door lock switch (notes if good and motor does not run, go to step 3 which is measure voltages between pins 5 and 6 on the harness).

I really appreciate the feedback.  I love fixing things myself as it presents a challenge and at least I can learn something new.  I do the same in fixing things on my son's Jeep.  My wife hates it and always wants me to seek a professional (in both sense of the term I bet).
