Have you had a chance to play with the Apple maps. Everything I search for is in the wrong location in my area. I have submitted a few correction and I'm curious to see how long it takes apple to correct them.

Back to google maps until then. Only ever found one mis location in my area on google maps. Submitted a correction and a few days later received a email saying it had been correct, love google maps.

Believe you have to update to IOS 6 with your ipad to get the maps.
http://www.apple.com/ios/maps/

You can submit a correction right from your ipad or iphone, kind of cool.
Something like click 'Location Error', then it lets you move the pin on the map to the correct location and submit the correction.

A little easier process then submitting corrections for google maps. At least the last time I did it.

I've heard apple maps have had lots of problems.  Mostly from here.  Google maps even gives you latitude & longitude if there is not an address.  It also will give you the closest pictures in the "What's Here?" link.

I have seen, a couple of times, the google mapping car cruising around my neighborhood.

Yep, I started hearing about the problems shortly after IOS 6 was released.

From what I heard the guy that was in charge of the Apple Maps department was fired the day before Thanksgiving and had been employed by Apple for 10 years.

Maps are new to Apple so it should be expected that Google is going to have some advantage at this point over them, but I think in time Apple will be just as good and maybe even better. I'm willing to give them a chance.

I use Google "Street View" on my android phone and tablet and can see the house color etc. especially when they give me special directions and I can follow on picture before driving. A standard Garmin GPS is what I use the most.

I use google maps/navigation on my Droid. The $ears GPS is a flippin' joke. It's wrong about 33% of the time.
