fridge compartment is freezing my food

fridge model is GSS25TGPA and it keeps freezing my food no matter how low i set it.  anybody run into this problem before?

The damper door breaks off at the hinge.  It's a very common problem on these.  Replace the damper assembly, part number WR49X10091.
