Nice buck, indeed.    Happy thanksgiving to all.   Nice to have a day off.  (Unless...........I get an emergency call or two in the morning.)   Stopped by and picked up some extra stove ignitors this morning.     Last year I had 3 calls,   ovens wouldn't fire and one had turkey on counter.     I charge a 50 dollar emergence charge on holidays,   its fair I think.

Got a call this morning for a GE oven not igniting.  I told the poor desperate woman that I'm not able to come out today.  She says that her turkey has been in the oven for 3 hours and didn't realize that the oven was not heating and she's got 30 people coming this afternoon.  She was crying over the phone pleading with me to come out.  I give in!!  I go out to the house 25 minutes away.  Find out that her turkey is still raw and cold in the oven.  Checked the oven and found the oven bake ignitor has blown.  Of course, I have one in the truck.  I replace the bake ignitor, hit the bake button and WALLA!!!  The flame comes on.  The desperate woman has totally turned around and is all smiles.  She happily writes a check for $180.00 and hands me a $100.00 bill as tip.  The whole family lines up at the door and thanks me heartily as I leave.

I don't know why I answered the phone and I don't know why I agreed to go service her stove.  But it was a good feeling inside to come back home and get my cooking started.  Happy Thanksgiving and know that the Lord loves you, too.
