So far we have found that if anything gets in the pump that stops the function of the machine. The drive pulley comes loose, The lid switch is known to fail diagnostics are tricky. Search this site for Vertical modular washer info. Plenty here. AJ has a manual on iit.

VMW= Very Much Worthless. I just did a 1 1/2 year old Maytag. Noisy. Agitator stripped, transmission throwing oil. Are they giving any parts concessions on these? Tranny $300.00?

I here you. I've worked on some of the new Kenmore's and they seem to be absolute junk. Tranny changes, electronic controls, optical sensors. I'm not even sure I understand how this stupid things work.

W/P wants us to tell people they're using them wrong. I give people some phone numbers to call and complain. I don't know if it does any good...

Check out the topic on the VHM - alot of infor in there.   I'm getting pretty good on these pieces of junk.   I've got two customers fighting whirlpool right now to get transmissions on a 1year 3 month old and a 1 year 5 month old washers.    Transmission is way too pricy for this machine.   Whirlpool is getting very nasty with some of my customers on their factory help line,  and must be getting absolutely hammered on these machines.
