The new AIM system. ( you know who you are...)
« on: October 23, 2012, 06:33:17 AM »
For those of you that work for the Big Blue. Are you on the AIM system, and what are your thoughts. Any SST issues or other feedback would be interesting to hear. I will give my opinion after I hear from others, if that's OK... Thanks.

I've been on the injured list since June. So I have no idea. I've talked to a few other techs that are not very computer savvy and they said they're still trying to figure it all out.

I'm curious to see how it all works. What do you think of it?

I've been on it for about a week. Still trying to figure it out somewhat. It has caused some overtime this week, just in additional steps to take and the computer locks up and has to be rebooted at least four times a day. Takes alot longer to inquire parts and credit cards. I have not tried getting a part from another tech yet, but the few techs I've talked to that have tried it say it's a pain. I think the idea is great in theory, but like most things with this company they go around the block to get across the street, and jump over dollars to save a dime.

I plan to as soon as I can. I need to save up so I can get my bus name, license, some parts. Then I plan to quit. It will be the awesomest thing ever to give my boss the finger.

I would never work for sears again, they expect way to much from a tech. Sales, banking, loss of pension, no more adding to 401k.

I told myself the same thing back in 2004. Then I got laid off from an extremely good paying job and had no choice. I'm ready to go out on my own. I just need customers...

Went thru the training for AIM today. It seems I now have to ship there return parts back to them. Between my first call and my last call. Since I live in the country that will work really well !!! They labeled all the racks and floor for my parts, with all my tools out. Put the tools back in the van tonight. Still have to remove half the van to get to anything. Will try it out Saturday?? Then will update. I don't see any issues except the returning parts. Or if the computer goes down ???

Seriously, that's what it feels like. It's worse in our district. Everything is so micro managed it's insane. The company could eliminate this by hiring competent people that know how to repair, have a brain, and can speak English instead of hiring the dumbest pieces of $h!t they can find.

I need to do this on my own...
