maytag washer will not fill

I have a maytag MAH6700AWW washing machine, it starts to fill but then abruptly stops and flashes a code LE except the L has an extra line in the middle like an E with the top cut off.  Couln't find the code in the owners manual.  Thought there was a probem with the fill valve but I pulled it and tested it with 120 volts and it seemed to work fine.  Wondered if anyone at this website has any suggestions.  Much appreciated.

That type of error is a heater error on some washers. Does your washer have a heater that you know of?
