Maytag MDB8949SAW0 dishwasher overfilling

This dishwasher is overfilling and flooding. The float switch is fine but it seems the often the valve wont shut off even when the door is open it keeps filling untill the water is shut off. Do these valves stick open often or is it more likely control board malfunctioning and keeping power to it?? Any help please

With the door open you should not have any power to the water valve. This leads me to believe that the valve is sticking open.
A quick check with a multimeter for voltage at the valve would tell you for sure what is going on with it.

Never heard of control failure due to 120 volts to valve. I say you have a bad fill valve.
