Whirlpool washer does not spin

Hello, I have a Whirlpool washer model #LSR80109Q0 that will not spin. I check the coupler which is good and the clutch and basket block were both replaced 2 months ago.  I am not sure if it agitates (trying to keep water out of it in case it doesn't drain as well.. Durining the "spin" cycle it sounds like something is restricting it because it will move a little and then stop and move some more and stop and so on.  Could the brake be frozen?  I did remove the motor assembly and I can turn it from the bottom but cannot inside the washer itself.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

You need to yank out the tranny and see if the brake cam actuator has come off the basket drive. That is what it sounds like to me.

What JW said.  The brake cam actuator has two (?) little pips in it that insert in to the cam.  They can shear off, and then won't let the actuator do its job.  If one is sheared, this might cause the problem you are seeing.
