My refrigerator has been making intermittent noises. I believe it to be either the fan that circulates air in inside the refridgerator or the evaporator fan, but don't know how to get at them to check. The noise will stop if either the freezer or refrigerator doors are opened and may resume again after being closed. Noise level ranges from quiet (normal) to perhaps the level of a microwave oven or electric razor.

Symptoms (besides noise):
1. Both freezer and refrigerator compartments seem appropriately cold.
2. Compressor is VERY hot - too hot to leave my hand on it more than 1-2 seconds.
3. Condenser seems to be only very slightly warmer than room temperature.
4. I can see that the condenser fan is working and not noisy.
5. The noise seems to originate about halfway up the the refrigerator, but the back (except for bottom panel and circuit board access) doesn't seem to be designed to come off.
6. A few weeks ago (and on perhaps 3 other occasions before, separated by a period of months for each occasion) I had a sudden batch of frost on the tops of the items in my freezer (drawer style, on bottom). At first I thought it was some sort of leak from my automatic ice maker, so I turned of the water supply to it originally, but then happened again later. This formed mainly on the tops of the food items within, and on the back wall. Currently THAT problem doesn't exist, and usually doesn't, just a few odd times.

I think that about covers it. Hoping to either be able to fix it myself or avoid paying a repairman just to tell me I need to replace it completely. Thanks for your help.

The Coils is the same as the condenser, right?  If so, never, but looking at them they are quite clean.  A few specks of dust, but, amazingly clean.
